Brewing is in our history

A working Alaska brewery.

The brewery sits in the heart of Palmer on a three-acre campus. Its four-vessel, American-built 40-barrel brewhouse supports a beverage program that ranges from crisp lagers and West Coast styles to high-gravity barrel-aged releases, hard seltzer, canned cocktails, and handcrafted soda.

Matanuska occupies the former dairy blow-mold plant, where Matanuska Maid milk jugs were once made and filled. The property still carries physical pieces of that working history, including the grain elevator, silo, and railroad track leading to the silo.

The taproom keeps customers close to the source, while the production side gives Matanuska the scale to move packaged beer well beyond the brewery doors.

Palmer water

Built from the valley.

Matanuska's brewing philosophy starts with deep Palmer wells fed by glacial runoff from the surrounding Chugach and Talkeetna mountains.
